Len Pace
Head of Real Estate Investment Strategy
Len is excited to bring his depth of experience in real estate to Forthlane, with the goal to provide access to high quality real estate opportunities to our client families. Len has spent over 25 years in commercial real estate investment and development, beginning at Prudential Insurance of America in 1992. Len was the Canadian presence for U.S. based real estate asset management firm O’Connor Capital, managing its investment in TrizecHahn and sourcing Canadian opportunity investments. He had stints at Minto acting on a major apartment portfolio acquisition and Lehndorff/Dundee Realty (later DREAM) building a European client asset management group.
Most recently, Len was Vice President and later Executive Vice President with Osmington Inc. While with Osmington, assets under management grew from $300 million to as high as $2.8 billion. Osmington was the first external real estate partner for CPPIB in the early 2000’s and helped return the Winnipeg Jets to Canada as a 50% owner in 2011. Osmington participated in the development of the retail portion of Toronto Union Station as 50% partner of the City of Toronto, a project that Len headed on Osmington’s behalf.
Len leads Forthlane’s real estate investment initiative with the intent of providing clients with a fund offering that provides strong returns, global diversification, a natural hedge to inflation, and access to fund managers and products that would not generally be available to individuals. In addition to a fund, Forthlane may provide access to one-off real estate investment opportunities for its clients. Len also provides advisory services on a portfolio or transactional basis, as well as managing investments and relationships related to real estate.
Len and his wife Frances have three children: Madeline, Alex (1997-2009) and Ben. Following Alex’s diagnosis of osteosarcoma in 2007, Len’s family and team have raised more than $3 million for kids’ cancer and related charities. Len sits on the board of Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation, Arthouse (Oakville), and on the Giving Committee of Kindred Foundation.
Len is an avid cottager, musician, skier, cyclist and hockey player. Len believes strongly that a group of dedicated, focused and inspired people possess the power to make positive change wherever they choose.
